Milestone 5th Anniversary 2025 Canada Peace Dollars
Featuring a New "Zoomed-out" Design

You may remember when the gorgeous Canadian Peace Dollar design debuted on the reverse of the 2019 Peace & Liberty Medals, which honored the sacrifices made by veterans of both the U.S. and Canada. Created by Susan Taylor, retired senior engraver of the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM), and John Mercanti, former Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, the design boasted the incredible detail only a master's hand can create. In the Peace portion of that design, Susan echoed Anthony de Francisci's design for the American Peace Dollar introduced in 1921, saying she was inspired by how it "evoked a clear and elegant message of not only peace but also of harmony and grace." That popular 2019 design evolved into the Canada Peace Dollar series whose anniversary we are celebrating today.
2025 marks the 5th anniversary of the Canada Peace Dollar series, famous for its unique embellishments and the issuing of many firsts. 2025 is no exception.

A Recap of First and Lasts in the Series
Every year we hear the Canada Peace Dollar from the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) is special. And every year it is special, extraordinary even—2020 brought us an Ultra Cameo Proof finish, 2021 provided a Reverse Proof finish, 2022 gave us a Pulsating Proof, and 2023 was marked with Pulsating Rose Gold Proof. In 2024, collectors were treated to several firsts and lasts, including selective platinum and gold plating and the final appearance of the Queen's effigy on the series.
And for the 5th anniversary in 2025….
2025 Canada Peace Dollars Featuring a Brand New "Zoomed-Out" Design
To celebrate the 5th anniversary, the RCM commissioned the first-ever design update in the series, offering collectors the chance to own the full vision of a design that began in 2019 as a joint effort between Susan Taylor and John Mercanti!
Brought to life by Susan Taylor, who also created the original reverse, the new 2025 reverse is rich in symbolism. It shows a "zoomed-out" version of Taylor's original design, which results in a lovely, full-bodied depiction of Lady Peace striding along the Canadian Coast, reminiscent of the famous Walking Liberty design. In the distance, storm clouds brew, with the sun starting to peak out between them. Lady Peace holds a wreath of olives, symbolizing peace, while maple leaves resonate from her very steps.
It's not often that we get to see what else was in the artist's field of vision beyond what fits on the canvas, but now, for the series' 5th anniversary, you can own the rest of the Canada Peace Dollar story!
First Year of Issue King Charles III Effigy
2025 is also the first year that a Canadian effigy of King Charles III will appear on the obverse, which had always previously featured Her Late Majesty the Queen.
Steven Rosati, an award-winning Canadian artist, designed the Canadian effigy of the King.
Struck in High-Purity Gold and Silver
These 2025 Peace Dollars are struck in one ounce of high-purity 99.99% pure gold ($200 Canada legal tender), five ounces of 99.99% fine silver ($50 Canada legal tender), or one ounce of 99.99% fine silver ($1 Canada legal tender). Each of these coins is also available as part of a 3-Pc. Set.

Not only are they perfect, but these 5th Anniversary Proofs have also been certified by NGC as First Day of Issue (FDI), meaning they were struck within 24 hours of their official release from the mint, or as First Day of Production (FDP), meaning they were struck on the first day the mint began production. FDI and FDP proofs are desired because they are fresh and sharp and because there are so few of them compared to the overall population.
