About Joseph Menna, The U.S. Mint’s 13th Chief Engraver

Menna, a former DC Comics artist who created several statues, action figures, and busts for DC Collectibles, said he is a lifelong comic book fan, adding that the Superman coins and medals “represents the strength we have in all of us, that we can all be Super Heroes.” Menna was named the U.S. Mint’s 13th Chief Engraver in 2019 and has received multiple Krause Publications’ Coin of the Year awards. He is recognized as a pioneering digital sculptor and designed and sculpted the largest statue in world history, The Statue of Unity in Gujarat, India.
