The China Mint’s Panda coin series was first released in 1982 in gold and 1983 in silver, and in the decades since has become one of the numismatic collector’s most popular purchases. Pandas are back in 2026 with another one-year-only design depicting the beloved continuing story of a cub growing into an adult bear, a series-within-a-series now in its eighth year.
And in a continuing feature for collectors, GOVMINT alone offers the only mint-identified sets of three 30-Gram Silver Panda coins from each of three major Chinese Mints: Shenzen (Guobao), Shanghai, and Shenyang, along with handwritten signatures from numismatic innovator Peter Gu. SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS/LEGAL TENDER
Each Panda has been certified by NGC as a First Release (FR) specimen, meaning each was received by NGC within 30 days of the mint’s official release date and rated graded MS70 (the highest possible). Each is also legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.
