Complete Set of Susan B. Anthony and Sacagawea Proofs – With Bonus Presidential Dollars
First issued by the United States Mint in 1979, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar represented the first time that a woman appeared on a circulating U.S. coin (not counting the female personification of Liberty, of course). Replacing the Eisenhower Dollar, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar was too similar in size to the U.S. quarter, and the coin lasted just three years before it was discontinued in 1981. That is, until 1999, when a small mintage was struck to meet the demands of vending machines, which preferred the coin's quarter-like size. This collection brings together the 1979-S Type 1, 1980-S, 1981-S Type I and 1999-P Susan B. Anthony Dollar Proofs.
We've also brought together a full run of Sacagawea Golden Dollar Proofs struck in San Francisco from 2000 to 2008, featuring the Shoshone Indian guide who assisted the famous Lewis & Clark Expedition from 1804-1806 led by Meriwether Lewis and William Lewis. Sacagawea is shown carrying her infant son on her back on the coin's obverse, while the reverse depicts a soaring eagle. Beginning in 2009, new, one-year-only designs that paid tribute to different aspects of Native American history began appearing on the reverse.
Rounding out this collection is the first eight Presidential Dollars, struck by the U.S. Mint in 2007 and 2008. Each coin features the profile of a former president along with the "S" mint mark of the San Francisco Mint. 2007 issues include Presidents George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. 2008 issues include Presidents James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren.
Each of the 21 coins in this set has been graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) as being in near-perfect Proof-69 Deep Cameo (PR69 DCAM) condition, a distinction that means your almost-flawless proofs will showcase impressive full strikes and indistinguishable imperfections – well above and beyond the quality of the vast majority of coins in the series.
According to PCGS population reports, just 578 sets like this have been assembled in one grade higher in PF70 DCAM condition. This is a tremendous opportunity to own all these fabulous coins in one high-grade set. But hurry; we have only five of these sets in our vaults, with no chance to secure more. Hurry and get yours now!
