The World’s Most Sought-After Gold Coins
Every year, collectors around the world anticipate the day Gold American Eagles will be available. For you, that day is today! Not only that, but you can also get a 2024 American Silver Eagle (a $40.00 value) FREE!

An American Coin, Minted from U.S. Gold
One reason American Gold Eagles are so popular is that the coins are required by law to be minted from gold mined in the U.S. These are truly American coins, with most of the gold mined in Nevada, Alaska and Colorado.
With Distinctively American Designs
Another reason these coins are so popular is their beautiful, uniquely American designs. The reverse shows a close-cropped profile of a regal bald eagle with a strong, curved beak, thick plumage, and an intense gaze. The obverse features a modified version of American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ classic design for the $20 Double Eagle gold piece, a stunning image of Lady Liberty marching confidently forward.

The History of American Gold and Gold Eagles
Ever since the first pieces of gold were discovered at Sutter’s Mill in California on January 24, 1848, gold has played an important role in the history of the U.S., forever be a symbol of wealth and prosperity, and special in the hearts of Americans, historians and collectors.
Yet, for decades, the ability to own that gold was stripped from Americans. In 1933, Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 6102, making it a criminal offence for U.S. citizens to own or trade gold, with exceptions made only for jewelry and collectible coins. It wouldn’t be until 1975 that Americans could freely own and trade gold, and another nine years before the U.S. would begin producing its own modern gold bullion coins.
This caused Americans to turn to foreign markets to purchase bullion coins. At that point, U.S. President Ronald Reagan knew he had to do something, and so on July 9, 1985 he signed the Liberty Coin Act into law as a way to give Americans an opportunity to own gold and silver without turning to foreign markets. That’s when the Gold Eagle was born!
