Stonewall Jackson’s Last Victory

One of the major confrontations of the American Civil War was the Battle of Chancellorsville in Virginia. From April 30 to May 6, 1863, the North and South clashed, with victory going to the Confederacy and General Robert E. Lee. Despite facing an enemy that was twice the size of his own forces, Lee split his army into two — a decision that led to what history remembers as Lee’s most significant tactical victory. However, it also led to the death of Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, Lee’s right-hand man, who accidentally took a bullet from his own men while scouting ahead for the Confederacy.

This set commemorates that important battle by bringing together an 1863 Indian Head Cent and a Seated Liberty Half Dime struck between 1852 and 1863 (date varies). You’ll also receive an authentic Civil War bullet, a Confederate Coupon used to raise money during the war, a photo of Stonewall Jackson and a storybook on coins and currency of the Civil War. Coins come in Good to Fine (G–F) condition.
