The Peace Silver Dollar is one of America's most popular vintage coins and the last silver dollar series struck for circulation entirely in silver. The last Morgan Dollar was struck in 1921 and the first Peace Dollar was struck that very same year. The U.S. Mint struck the coins again in 2021 to pay tribute to that this milestone in coin history. • 2025 MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR: Featuring the same designs created in 1878 by then-Assistant Mint Engraver George T. Morgan, the 2025 Morgan Silver Dollar differs from its vintage ancestors only in that instead of being struck in 26.73 grams of 90% fine silver, it has been minted in .859 troy ounces of highly pure 99.9% silver. The rest is all still there–the same profile of Lady Liberty, a cap, flora, and a crown incused with the word "LIBERTY" adorn her head, while 13 stars, "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the 2025 date are engraved around the rim of the coin. The familiar reverse returns as well showing an eagle with outstretched wings clasping arrows and an olive branch, accompanied by a wreath. The same inscriptions– "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "ONE DOLLAR" are there to encircle the eagle.
• 2025 PEACE SILVER DOLLAR: The same is true of the Peace Silver Dollar. Featuring the same designs created in 1921 by Italian American Sculptor Anthony de Francisci, the 2025 Peace Silver Dollar differs from its vintage ancestors only in that instead of being struck in 26.73 grams of 90% fine silver, it has been minted in .859 troy ounces of highly pure 99.9% silver. The rest is all still there–the same profile of Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays modeled after the design of the Statue of Liberty. The model for Lady Liberty was 23-year-old Teresa Cafarelli de Francisci, the young sculptor's wife. The familiar reverse returns as well showing an eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the inscription "PEACE."
