The Ultimate 1- 2- 3- Cent Collection

Many collectors today aren’t aware that large-sized one-cent coins, two-cent pieces and even three-cent nickels were struck by the United States Mint. This set brings them all together!

You’ll receive a Large Cent struck between 1816 and 1857 — one of the first coins struck when the U.S. Mint was still young in the 1790s. Next comes a Two-Cent Piece struck between 1864 and 1872. A collector favorite, it was struck for just nine years and was the first coin to feature the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Last is a Three-Cent Nickel struck between 1865 and 1889. Created specifically for the purchase of 3-cent postage stamps, this coin was struck in silver until the onset of the Civil War. Struck in a copper-nickel alloy, it was nicknamed the “nickel” — a name we now use for our five-cent coins.

Each coin comes was struck at the “Mother Mint” in Philadelphia and comes in Circulated condition. Plus, the set will come beautifully displayed in a presentation case and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. And, as an added bonus, you’ll also receive a 10-cent fractional currency note printed between 1874 and 1876 during an era when America was still faced with a coin shortage in the aftermath the Civil War!

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • UNIQUE COINS STRUCK MORE THAN A CENTURY AGO – These coins are all at least 130 years ago during a time when the United States witnessed the War with Mexico, the Civil War and Reconstruction.
  • VINTAGE LEGAL TENDER COINS – The coins in this set were all legal tender in the United States with denominations of 1, 2 and 3 cents.
  • NICE CIRCULATED CONDITION – Each coin in your 1816–1899-P Obsolete Cents Three-Piece Set comes in nice Circulated condition.
  • SCARCE AND HARD-TO-FIND – Due to meltings and the ravages of time, only a fraction of these coins have survived for today’s collectors.
