Red Seal Notes are one of longest lived of all U.S. Currency, introduced during the Civil War. This four-piece set features the last two $2 Red Seal Notes issued in 1953 and 1963 and the last two $5 Red Seal Notes issued in 1953 and 1963. These notes feature the last year the motto "In God We Trust" was omitted (1953) and the only time the motto was printed for Red Seal Notes (1963).

The front of the $2 Notes feature the portrait of Thomas Jefferson and on the reverse, an intricate depiction of his home, Monticello. The front of the $5 Notes feature the portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the reverse, and the Lincoln Memorial on the reverse. The seals and serial numbers are printed in a stark red color.
