Iconic Liberty Designs Struck In Pure Silver!

Each rectangular ingot in this set was struck in a full ounce of highly pure 99.9% ­fine silver and measures a whopping 22 mm x 55 mm. When placed together side by side, they create a patriotic tableau with the White House and an American Flag in the background. The designs include:

·       WALKING LIBERTY - Designed by German-born American sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, the Walking Liberty design first made its debut on the 1916 half dollar, lasting three decades before bowing out in 1947. In 1986, this iconic image was reborn for the Silver Eagle with her exquisitely detailed beauty remaining on the coin ever since.

·       STANDING LIBERTY - This design is the work of sculptor Herman Atkins MacNeil. It was featured on the of the Standing Liberty Quarter that was struck for just 15 years from 1916 to 1930 and was replaced in 1932 by the Washington Quarter. Lady Liberty is depicted Liberty standing, shield in hand and holding an olive branch.

·       SEATED LIBERTY - The Seated Liberty design was originally created by U.S. Mint Engraver Christian Gobrecht. The same design of Lady Liberty seated with her right hand on a shield and her left hand grasping a staff topped by a Phrygian cap was used on the half-dime, dime, quarter, half-dollar, and dollar coins of the 19th century.

·       LIBERTY HEAD - This Liberty Head design is the work of U.S. Mint Assistant Engraver George Morgan. His historic design depicts a profile of Lady Liberty. The model used for Liberty was Miss Anna Williams of Philadelphia, who Morgan declared to have the most perfect feminine profile he had ever seen. The coin was struck from 1878 to 1904 and for one last time in 1921.
