Own Five Decades Of Vintage Morgan Silver Dollars In Matching Grade!

The Morgan Silver Dollar is the most popular, most-collected, most talked about vintage silver dollar ever! In part that's because of its reputation as the coin that helped build America's Wild West, and in part it's because of its iconic design. With that in mind, we challenged our buyers to assemble as many of these special Five-Coin Morgan Decades Collections as possible, and man, did they deliver! Not only that, but each set has been graded by the professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in mouthwatering Choice Uncirculated Mint State-64 (MS64) condition!

Morgans From Both The 19th And 20th Centuries From Five Different Mints

What makes this collection so special is not just the fact that it's a handful of vintage Morgan Silver Dollars, it's also a tour of American history. It features Morgans from all five decades the coin was struck during the 1870s, 1880s, 1890s, 1900s, and 1920s–including key first and last years of issues! It also contains a Morgan from every mint that struck the coin: San Francisco, Carson City, Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Denver. Each coin has its own story, and when you combine those stories, you have a chronicle of our country! The coins in this set are as follows:

  • The 1878-S First-Year Morgan Dollar from the San Francisco Mint–no collection is complete without the first year. Those first Morgans made a big splash because they were the first U.S. Mint release of large-sized silver dollars for circulation! This first year 1878 Morgan Dollar was struck at the historic San Francisco Mint and features an "S" mint mark.
  • The 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar–Morgan Silver Dollars from the Carson City Mint with this iconic "CC" mint mark are the epitome of America's Wild West. Struck from silver mined from the famous Comstock Lode, coins like these 1884-CC Morgans jingled in the pockets of sheriffs, outlaws, cattle barons, and gamblers as they tamed the Wild West.
  • The 1896 (P) Morgan Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint–any Morgan collection should include one struck at what is known affectionately as the "Mother Mint", the original U.S. Mint, opened in 1792. In this Collection, you'll receive one of these 126-year-old 1896 Morgan Silver Dollars–featuring no mint mark which identifies the coin as being struck in Philadelphia.
  • The 1904-O Morgan Dollar from the New Orleans Mint–all Morgan collections should include a Morgan from the historic New Orleans Mint. New Orleans is the only mint to be operated by three different sovereign governments: the U.S. government, the state of Louisiana and the Confederacy. Coin struck in New Orleans feature a "O" mint mark.
  • The Last-Year 1921-D Morgan Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint–a truly classic collection requires a last year issue. And the 1921 Morgan Dollars struck at the Denver Mint  represent not only the last year Morgans were minted, but they also represent the ONLY year the coin was struck in Denver, making this coin even more special! It features the "D" mint mark.

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • AMERICA'S MOST POPULAR COIN - The Morgan Silver Dollar–so named for its designer, U.S. Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan–has stood the test of time. Struck from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921, it was the coin of America's "Wild West" and jingled in the coin purses of gamblers, gunfighters, soldiers, and dance hall girls.
  • CLASSIC DESIGNS - Morgan's historic design depicts a profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse while the reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings. The model used for Liberty was Miss Anna Williams of Philadelphia, who Morgan declared to have the most perfect feminine profile he had ever seen.
  • STRUCK IN GLEAMING AMERICAN SILVER - Struck in 26.73 grams of highly pure 90% silver from the famous Comstock Lode, the Morgan Silver Dollar is a big coin measuring 38.1 mm in diameter. When this coin was plunked down on a counter, its weight meant real money, pure and simple.
  • LEGAL TENDER SILVER DOLLAR - Morgans were $1 legal tender and struck during the heyday of America's Wild West era where coins were overwhelmingly preferred over paper currency.
  • CHOUCE UNCIRCULATED CONDITION - Each coin in your 1878-1921 Morgan Silver Dollar Five-Piece Decades Collection will come graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in Choice Uncirculated Mint State-64 (MS64) condition.
  • THE CASE OF THE DISAPPEARING MORGANS - While millions of Morgan Silver Dollars were struck from 1878 through 1921, massive silver meltings and the ravages of time have taken their toll. Today coin experts believe that only 15% of all Morgans ever struck remain in existence in any condition!
