These British Coins Are From The Mildenhall Collection

The Mildenhall Collection was curated over the course of nearly 70 years by a collector from Suffolk, England. The as yet-unnamed collector started amassing his collection when he was a boy in the 1950s and it evolved over the years into a jaw-dropping cache of coins that consisted of all the British denominations that were struck for circulation from the later 19th Century onwards. After a lifetime of painstaking work, the collection was made available for sale in late 2021 through the Classical Numismatic Group (CNG) in an auction of coins that ranged from a Cromwell Crown from 1658 to the last coins of Elizabeth II struck prior to decimalization of the currency in 1970.

Fabulous Coins That Celebrate Victoria's Golden Jubilee

Here you can secure a six-piece set of coins from the Mildenhall Collection that were all struck in 1889 during the later reign of Queen Victoria. All were struck in highly pure 92.5% Sterling silver and have been certified by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) in grades ranging from Choice Uncirculated Mint State-63 to Gem Uncirculated Mint State-66 (MS63–MS66) condition. The set consists of a 3 Pence (MS66), 6 Pence (MS65), 1 Shilling (MS64), 2 Shilling (MS64), Half Crown (MS63), and Double Florin (MS64). The coins' designs feature the short-lived bust of Queen Victoria wearing a crown in a design that was unveiled in 1887 to celebrate her Golden Jubilee and was used through 1893.
