The “Rookie Card” Home Run Half Dollar Collection

What a set! You get five different Half Dollars struck between 1914 and 1953, representing the rookie years of some of the best home run hitters of all time, as well as a 2014-D Baseball Hall of Fame Half Dollar – the first curved coin series from the U.S. Mint! Just look at these vintage half dollars – each struck in 90% fine silver – and the great players they represent:

You start in 1914, Babe Ruth’s rookie year, with a 1914 Barber Half Dollar. The “Bambino” would go on to hit 714 home runs – a record that would stand for nearly 40 years.

Next comes a 1936 Walking Liberty Half Dollar representing the rookie year of Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio, the owner of a record 56-game hitting streak and 361 career home runs.

The Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1939 is next in honor of The “Splendid Splinter,” Ted Williams, who played his first professional game that year and left 21 years later with 521 home runs. Who knows how many more home runs DiMaggio and Williams would have amassed had they both not lost several years of their prime to military service during World War II?

A 1951 Franklin Half Dollar represents the rookie year of the great Willie Mays. The “Say Hey Kid” would go down in history not just for his 660 career home runs but as one of baseball’s greatest all-around players.

The final “rookie coin” is a 1953 Franklin Half Dollar in honor of Ernie Banks, the famous “Mr. Cub” who began a career that year that would see him belt 512 home runs for the hapless Chicago Cubs.

This six-piece set comes beautifully housed in a presentation case that you’ll be proud to display anywhere in your home or office. It will also arrive alongside a pair of extras: A replica of a 1927 newspaper about Babe Ruth and the Sports Illustrated hardcover book The Baseball Book Expanded Edition.

This set covers all the bases and is an absolute must-have for any baseball fan! Add it to your line-up today!
