Beautiful, Ancient Coins From Constantine The Great

It's no stretch to say that Constantine the Great changed the course of history, and now you have the chance to add one of his Billon Nummus coins to your collection!

The Roman Empire's First Christian Emperor

Constantine the Great was the Roman Empire's first Christian Emperor—but he didn't start out that way. He began his long 30-year reign in AD 307 as a worshiper of Sol Invictus, "The Unconquerable Sun." But after a vision of the Cross led to him to victory in battle and his subsequent rise to being crowned the sole Emperor of the Roman Empire, Constantine literally "saw the light" and shifted his beliefs. His Edict of Milan in 313 declared religious tolerance for Christians and the First Council of Nicaea—which produced the Nicene Creed—was called in 325 by Constantine. Not surprisingly, for these and other acts he was venerated a saint by the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic Church.

One of the most powerful men who ever lived, Constantine also initiated the split of the Roman Empire into Western and Eastern halves when he moved the Empire's capital to the city named after him in his own lifetime, Constantinople. And while the Western or Roman Empire would fall to barbarian invaders in 476, the Eastern or Byzantine Empire would last another 1,000 years before being conquered by the Ottoman Turks in 1453.

Graded By NGC In Very Fine Condition With Lots Of Detail Still Intact

So, while there are many coins around that were struck during the Constantine dynasty, most are in very poor condition. The coins in this offer have been hand-selected to be visually attractive with lots of nice detail still intact. In fact, each one available here has been certified, graded, and encapsulated by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) as being in nice Very Fine (VF) condition! That's a remarkable grade, especially considering they're around 17 centuries old! While the reverse designs on these coins vary, the obverse of each features Constantine's Imperial portrait. These Roman coins set the standard for western coinage and are similar to how coins today are still designed. Don't wait! Secure yours now!
