1) This bronze coin was minted by Constantine I the Great in the name of St. Helena.
2) St. Helena, mother of Constantine the Great, used her wealth and status to further the growth of Christianity
3) She found the “True Cross” and the important sites in the life of Jesus – Birthplace in Bethlehem, Mt. Sinai, the place of the Crucifixion, and the valley where the wood for the cross was taken. She built churches and monasteries at all these places.
4) The coins of St Helena are rather scarce and hard to find on the market. She is a very important and popular figure in Christian history and therefore the coins with her portrait are quite popular amongst collectors.
