It is THE day that proved Jesus was who He claimed to be, God in the flesh sent to Earth to save us and show us the way.

More than bonnets, bunnies and scavenger hunts for hidden eggs, Easter is the chief tenet of the Christian faith. As such, it is celebrated with profound joy for Christians around the world. Also known as Resurrection Sunday, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ following His crucifixion. JESUS ENTERING JERUSALEM on Palm Sunday to mark the beginning of Holy Week when Jesus triumphantly entered the city. Seated on a donkey, Jesus was welcomed by people singing and waving palm branches.

THE LAST SUPPER where Jesus told his disciples to eat and drink in remembrance of Him. The final meal shared by Jesus and the 12 Apostles and the basis of today’s sacrament of Holy Communion.

THE SMALL PASSION is an image representing the physical and spiritual suffering of Jesus Christ as he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane prior to his arrest and trial before Pilate.

“AND HE BEARING HIS CROSS WENT FORTH” – from John 19:17 recounting Jesus carrying the cross to Golgotha, the skull-shaped hill in Jerusalem that is also known as Calvary where He was crucified.

THE EFFORTS AND POWERLESSNESS OF ATHEISM depicts the crucifixion of Christ when he was tempted to prove he was the Son of God by saving Himself. Instead, Jesus fulfilled scripture by dying on the cross.

THE ENTOMBMENT shows Jesus being laid in the tomb following Pilate’s decision to allow Joseph of Arimathea to bury Christ’s body in a tomb carved into rock.

RESURRECTION OF CHRIST on the third day, Christ rose from the dead culminating the Passion after having destroyed the gates of Hell and giving eternal salvation to those who believe.
