 INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!
$50 Gold Eagles from the Very First Monster Box
First-Ever Reverse Design Change in the 35-Year History
Best-Selling Gold Coin Series in the World—the American Gold Eagle

You’re probably aware that Key Dates—firsts, lasts and new designs, for instance—drive collectors wild. They love owning the bragging rights to be able to say “my collection includes the first X” or “my collection includes the last Y.” But in the 230-year history of the U.S. Mint (founded in 1792), no one has ever been able to say they have the very first of the Type 2 coins the Mint produced—until now!

President Reagan Cleared the Way for the World’s Most Popular Gold Coin
When President Reagan signed the Gold Bullion Coin Act into law, that event launched the American Gold Eagle on the path to becoming the world’s most in-demand gold coin. The response was so large in fact that a story in the October 22, 1986, New York Times stated “the American Eagle, America’s new gold coin, has proved a success of embarrassing proportions. The supply has run out…the response has surprised the Mint, which yesterday suspended sales of the coins until next Monday because there were none left to sell. The U.S. Mint struck 1,122,000 one-ounce Gold Eagles last year (465,000 Type 1 design and 650,500 Type 2 design). The coin is also available each year struck in half-ounce, quarter-ounce and tenth-ounce sizes.. The coin is also available each year struck in half-ounce, quarter-ounce and tenth-ounce sizes.

But 2021 Was a Game Changer—Once in a Lifetime!
Midway through last year, in honor of the coin’s 35th anniversary, the Gold Eagle received a new reverse design, noted as the Type 2 (T2) design, created by Artistic Infusion Artist Jennie Norris. It’s gorgeous, portraying a close-cropped profile of a bald eagle with a strong, curved beak, thick plumage, and an intense gaze. It was the first time the Mint had ever released two different Gold Eagle designs in the same year. Plus, it had the effect of shortening the distribution window by more than half for both the last T1 Gold Eagles and the first T2 Gold Eagles. Not surprisingly, the move blew the roof off the coin collecting market sending Gold Eagle collectors into a frenzy.

What If…
Just imagine if you could go back in time to 1986, and get one of the very first original T1 design Gold Eagles hot off the press? That would certainly be a highlight in your collection, right? Of course, you can’t do that, but here’s something you can do—you can get one of the very first new T2 design Gold Eagles—certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) as coming from the very first Monster Box of 500 coins, the box with serial number 550001!

How Is that Possible?
Former two-time U.S. Mint Director David J. Ryder knew this new design Gold Eagle was a BIG DEAL—an event so important in fact that he ordered the first 15,000 of the new T2 design Gold Eagles to be set aside, and IDENTIFIED as being from the first production run. NEVER before has the Mint ever concerned itself with validating first production coins. This alone was a first for the coin market.

But that’s not what you have here. You don’t just have Gold Eagles from the first 15,000 coins off the press—you have coins from the very first Monster Box of 500 coins off the press—each one certified as such by NGC.

Even Better...These Coins Are the Best of the First
These Gold Eagles aren’t just from the very first Monster Box—these are the perfect Gold Eagles from the very first Monster Box. As you know, coin quality is measured by grades on a 70-point scale, with a grade of 70 representing absolute perfection, even under magnification. And each of the Gold Eagles here comes with a flawless, perfect Mint State-70 (MS70) grade. Of the 500 Gold Eagles in the first Monster Box, only 302 of them received a perfect MS70 grade from NGC.

And That’s Not All!
Not only are these Gold Eagles from the very first T2 Monster Box, and not only are they certified as being in perfect condition, but each will come encapsulated with TWO hand-signed signature labels! The designer of the T2 Gold Eagle reverse, Jennie Norris’ signature label will grace the front of the holder, and the Director of the U.S. Mint who oversaw the Gold Eagle’s transition from T1 design to T2 design David Ryder’s signature label will be on the back of the holder. Norris relied on her background in raptor handling to gain a competitive edge in the design competition that enabled her to beat the 39 other candidates who submitted designs. Ryder was a two-time Director of the U.S. Mint, serving as the 34th Director under U.S. President George Bush (1992-1993) and as the 39th Director under U.S. President Donald Trump (2018-2021).
