British Royal Mint Quality
Of all the many Mints around the world, the British Royal Mint is one of the oldest. It has continuously operated for over 1,000 years. The coins it produced changed as minting technology improved and today the British Royal Mint is known for the quality of their coins.
Since this Silver round was struck by the British Royal Mint, it was made with the same level of quality as their coins. Most of the rounds on the market are struck by private Mints. Sovereign Mints have the authority to mint coins, so they usually do that exclusively. Silver rounds from a sovereign Mint come with the implied trust level of a coin and pricing that is closer to the bullion value. The Offset Shield Silver round weighs 1 troy oz. and is made of .999 fine silver.

Intricate Offset Shield Design
The obverse of this impressive Silver round displays the Royal Mint Shield. It is offset to the right. The silver weight and purity are inscribed above and below it respectively. Surrounding the shield there is an extremely detailed pattern of lines that roughly follows the shape of a star with 9 points.
The reverse also shows the Royal Mint logo, but this version is a bit larger. It’s a little easier to make out the details of the shield here. Each square on the shield symbolizes a different region of the United Kingdom. The harp is the symbol of Northern Ireland, the lone lion represents Scotland, and the trio of lions represent England. The background on this side is filled with a pattern of right angles.
This round is in the same condition it was in when it was released from the British Royal Mint. It has a Brilliant Uncirculated finish and is in GEM condition.
