2021 Peace and Morgan Silver Dollar

The First Legal-Tender Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars in 100 Years!
As Beautiful as the Originals, but in 99.9% Fine Silver!
The Morgan Silver Dollar and the Peace Silver Dollar are among the most collected coins ever! That’s in part because of their beautiful, iconic designs, and in part because of the role they played during exciting, turbulent, and most of all significant, periods of American history. They are both celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year, and the U.S. Mint is marking those occasions with six special limited releases, the first legal-tender Morgan Silver Dollars and Peace Silver Dollars in 100 years since the last Morgan and the first Peace!
The Morgan Silver Dollar was minted from 1878 to 1904, then again in 1921, at five different branches of the U.S. Mint – Philadelphia, New Orleans, Carson City, Denver and San Francisco. It was only produced one year at the Denver Mint, 1921, and the Carson City Mint closed in 1893. The first Peace Silver Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1921, marking the first and only time two circulating silver dollars with different designs were released in the same year. The Peace Dollar was minted through 1928, then again in 1934 and 1935.
Just Released! Five 2021 Morgan Silver Dollars and One 2021 Peace Silver Dollar
These 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollars from the U.S. Mint celebrate the 100th anniversaries of the last minting of the Morgan Dollar, and the first minting of the Peace Dollar, in 1921. The same size as the originals, they’re the first legal-tender Morgans and Peace Dollars since 1921 and 1935 respectively! And they’re spectacularly gorgeous, created with modern technology and historical U.S. Mint assets that gives them beautiful uncirculated finishes that showcase their original, timeless designs in even more clarity!

The five available Morgans include one each minted in Denver and San Francisco, with “D” and “S” mint marks, and three minted in Philadelphia, one featuring no mint mark like all other Philadelphia-minted coins, one featuring a “CC” privy mark recognizing the former Carson City Mint, and one featuring an “O” privy mark recognizing the historic New Orleans Mint. The Peace Dollar has been struck in Philadelphia and has no mint mark.
The coins were authorized by the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump on January 5, 2021, requiring “the Department of the Treasury to mint and issue coins in honor of the 100th anniversary of the completion of coinage of the Morgan dollar and the 100th anniversary of the commencement of coinage of the Peace dollar.”

Struck in 99.9% Fine Silver
Unlike the originals which were struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, the five Morgan Silver Dollars and the Peace Silver Dollar in this special release are all struck in 99.9% fine silver. They are $1 legal tender.
Certified Perfect MS70 and First Day of Issue by NGC
Coins are graded on a 70-point scale, with a grade of 70 representing absolute perfection, even under magnification. There is no higher grade. These coins have been certified as flawless Mint State-70 (MS70) by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), one of the top coin-grading services in the world. Each coin has also received a First Day of Issue (FDI) pedigree. The FDI pedigree means these coins were turned over for grading on the first day of release from the mint. First Day of Issue coins are sought-after because they are fresh and sharp, and because there are so few of them compared to the overall population.
These coins are not only the best of the best, they’re the first of the best.

Exclusive John Mercanti Hand-Signed Signature Labels
Each of these perfect, flawless coins comes sonically sealed with an exclusive Morgan/Peace themed label with a hand-signed signature from John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Designer of the U.S. Mint.
Low Mintages, Sold Out!
With a product limit of only 175,000 of each Morgan Silver Dollar, and 200,000 of the Peace Silver Dollar, it’s no surprise that the U.S. Mint quickly sold out of each of the six coins. Those mintages represent the raw/ungraded totals. Fewer of all the versions are available in perfect MS70 condition, pedigreed as First Day of Issue, with hand-signed labels.
What all that means is simply this: you’ll want to act fast, so you don’t end up empty-handed.
