This action-packed medal depicts a fighter jet pilot in his cockpit looking above as a pair of F-22 Raptor fighter jets soar past. An inscription that reads "U.S. AIR FORCE" hangs in the clouds that hover in the background. A stylized landscape can be seen below. Built by Lockheed Martin, the F-22 was originally designed to combat Soviet warplanes in air-to-air combat. The tough warbird made its combat debut over Syria in 2014 and has since been deployed elsewhere in the Middle East.
