Stalin's Surprise Birthday Appearance
The "Man of Steel," Joseph Stalin, made a rare appearance in 1949 that few people know about. He was featured on the 50 and 100 Czechoslovakian Korun. Ironically, the only time the ruthless dictator ever showed up on a coin was on these one-year-only commemoratives celebrating his 70th birthday. Struck in small quantities, not many have survived in About Uncirculated to Brilliant Uncirculated (AU–BU) condition. We recently secured 100 sets from a Berlin coin show. Each comes in a wood presentation case with a certificate of authenticity, along with a storycard. Call before they've all been claimed!
