100 Years of Columbus Commemoratives

Though claims of his “discovering” America may be dubious, there’s no questioning Christopher Columbus’ importance to American history. In August of 1492, Columbus left Spain with the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. By mid-October, he had reached “the New World” (an island in the Bahamas). In both 1892/1893 and 1992, the U.S. Mint produced commemorative half dollars to celebrate the 400th and 500th anniversaries of Columbus’ journey. With this set you can secure both the 1892/1893 commemorative and the 1992 commemorative housed together in a deluxe presentation case. 1892/1893 commemorative date varies.
