1937–1946 Great Britain 1 Shilling & 1 Florin Silver George VII 2-pc Set XF
Silver Coins of King George VI
George VI took up the crown and became King of England upon the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII, in 1936. George ruled over the British Empire during World War II, and also saw its dismantling and shift from an empire into a commonwealth. As the king of Great Britain and the British Commonwealth, the effigy of George VI appeared on the coins that circulated throughout the realm. Two of those coins include the Silver Florin and Silver Half Crown, the pocket change of King George VI.
