General Motors Stock Collection

When General Motors Chief Executive officer Charles “Engine Charley” Wilson was being confirmed by the Senate as President Eisenhower’s first Secretary of Defense, he was pointedly asked if he could make decisions that might have a negative impact on GM. Wilson didn’t bat an eye and said he certainly could, however he emphatically added that he could not imagine such a situation occurring saying “What’s good for General Motors is good for the country.”

It’s hard to argue with him. After all, General Motors led global vehicle sales for 77 consecutive years from 1931 through 2007 – longer than any other automaker. Chances are you, your father and your grandfather have all driven a GM car. They’re a part of American culture and American history – and so are these General Motors Stock Certificates, issued from 1950 to 1989.

There are two different vignettes in this 5-piece collection: allegorical figures representing industry, flanking the GM logo; and a sleek futuristic car, truck and train. Each stock features a different colored border: red, orange, brown, green and blue. It’s a great set to frame and hang on the wall or add to your collection. Secure these colorful pieces of automotive and American history now!
