The Gold That Built An Empire Yours To Hold by the Pound
Historic Gold Liberty Coins Now Available by the Pound
From 1838 to 1908, the United States Mint struck some of the most enduring gold coins in American history—the Gold Liberty series. These coins circulated through the Wild West, the Gilded Age, and the dawn of the 20th century. And now, for a limited time, you can own them by the pound.
U.S. Goverment-Issued Gold Coins Struck in 90% Gold
That’s right—you can secure a full pound of U.S. government–issued Gold Liberty coins. Each gold coin is an original piece of history, struck in various sizes ranging from the 4.18-gram $2.50 Quarter Eagle all the way up to the 33.436-gram $20 Gold Double Eagle—all struck in highly pure 90% fine gold and guaranteed to be in collector condition with clearly visible dates and mint marks.

The Gold Liberty Coins that Powered a Nation
The $2.50, $5, and $10 Gold Liberty coins—struck from 1838 to 1908—show off Christian Gobrecht’s elegant designs, while the mighty $20 Liberty Double Eagle proudly carries the handiwork of James B. Longacre. Each denomination shares a classic portrait of Lady Liberty on the obverse and a bold eagle on the reverse, giving them a family resemblance any collector can spot. In the Wild West, these coins were everywhere: the smaller pieces jingled through saloons and general stores paying for meals, tools, and the occasional poker hand, while the larger denominations handled big-ticket purchases and serious bank business. Today, they still spark curiosity and smiles, especially from collectors who love holding a little frontier history in their hands.

Vintage Gold Coins are Becoming Increasingly Scarce
Today, surviving examples of these coins are increasingly scarce, as decades of circulation, melting, and loss have left far fewer of these historic pieces available to collectors than the millions originally struck.

It's a Miracle Any Survived!
THE 1933 GOLD RECALL
The coins here miraculously survived President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Gold Recall of 1933, requiring all Americans to trade in their gold, gold bullion, and gold certificates as a means of boosting an economy that was still foundering following the Great Depression. The government collected and melted $300 million in gold coins, turning them into gold bars that reside in Fort Knox. As a result, nobody knows how many of these $5 Gold Liberty coins still exist today.
