2019 South Korea 15-oz Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang Statue
Chiwoo Cheonwang Bullion Medal Stands Out As Sterling Silver Statue
First released in 2016, South Korea’s Chiwoo Cheonwang series of silver bullion medals has garnered worldwide acclaim while selling out of its limited mintages every year since its debut. And now the series offers a whole new way to collect silver with this gleaming statue that depicts the legendary warrior in all his heroic glory. What’s more, it’s the first statue ever released by KOMSCO, the official mint of South Korea!
Struck in 15 ounces of 92.5% sterling silver, this beautiful three-dimensional figurine weighs nearly a pound and stands over four inches tall. To give you some perspective of its size, most toy soldiers that you’re probably familiar with, stand a little more than two inches high. This solid-silver statue is nearly twice that size ensuring that it will get noticed wherever it is displayed in your home or office.
More than that, however, is that this statue is a visual feast that brings the design of the 2019 One-Ounce Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang Medal to life. It depicts Chiwoo Cheonwang, South Korea’s legendary God of War, surveying a field of battle from high atop a mountain. Along with him are his sword and shield – each a significant symbol of his mighty power and persona. His shield shows the image of Dokkaebi, a supernatural goblin that, despite its grotesque appearance, is a symbol of good luck. His massive longsword, standing taller than the indefatigable warrior himself, is a reminder that he is ready at a moment’s notice to take up arms and bring victory to his side.
In Korean mythology, Chiwoo Cheonwang is honored and worshiped as the “God of War.” In battle, he wore a demonic mask that obscured his face and terrified his enemies. Combined with his ability to cast magic spells and control the weather, Chiwoo Cheonwang fought a series of epic battles against China’s Yellow Emperor more than 4,500 years ago. Today his mask serves as the mascot for South Korea’s national soccer team, the Red Devils.
Just 100 of these awesome, highly detailed statues have been produced and each will have its individual serial number engraved on the bottom of its base along with the weight and metal purity. The statue will also come in a beautiful box and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
This eye-catching piece is truly a monumental tribute to South Korea’s history and culture, one that is sure to be coveted by anyone who has been collecting medals in the Chiwoo Cheonwang bullion series. Unfortunately, only a miniscule fraction of those collectors will ever get the chance to own this piece. Have you the courage to be one of them? If so, don’t waste another moment and click this magnificent piece to your cart right now!
