"I'm Your Huckleberry!"

That's the iconic line from the epic 1993 film Tombstone that featured Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer as Wyatt Earp and John Henry "Doc" Holliday. In addition to a faithful re-telling of the historic 1881 shootout at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, the film was famous for Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holliday's slow taunt that enraged outlaw Johnny Ringo. But did you know that according to contemporary accounts of the day, Doc Holliday actually uttered that phrase in real life? It's true, the implication of which meant that Doc was ready to slap leather and have at whenever Ringo was ready. And with this gleaming silver bar, the memories of the early Tombstone and its gunfights and silver mines can be part of your collection with its deft, nugget-shaped design that's crafted to be unique, with slight variations in shape and appearance!

The Founding Of Tombstone, Arizona

Tombstone, Arizona was founded in 1877 by Ed Schieffelin, a silver prospector, and became one of the last boomtowns of the American frontier. Schieffelin named his claim "Tombstone" because he had been warned not to venture into the wilderness because if he did, all that would be left of him would be his own tombstone, a victim of the hostile environment and wild Apache Indians. Word about Schieffelin's silver discovery in southern Arizona spread like wildfire, bringing in hundreds of prospectors, speculators, businessmen, homesteaders, gunmen, and lawyers. Just two years later in 1879, a town was set out on a flat land near the silver mines. First known as Goose Flats, the town's name was soon changed to Tombstone in honor of Schieffelin's claim, the first silver claim in the area.
