1880–1882 Indian Head Cent Outlaw 3-pc Set VF
Outlaw Pocket Change from the Wild West
During the early 1880s, the newspapers of the Wild West blazed with news recounting the adventures of some of the most notorious outlaws and bandits America has ever known. Black Bart, known as the “Gentleman Bandit,” specifically went after Wells Fargo stagecoaches, but avoided violence. Billy the Kid was the opposite, killing his way through New Mexico in 1881 until he was gunned down by Sheriff Pat Garrett. In 1882 another outlaw, Jesse James, met his end in Missouri after a life of robbing banks, trains and stagecoaches.
Now you can take a trip back the wildest days of America’s Wild West with this three-piece set of one-cent coins struck at the “Mother Mint” in Philadelphia. The set contains 1880-P, 1881-P and 1882-P Indian Head Cents just like the ones that lined the pockets of those legendary outlaws — and the folks they robbed. Each coin comes in Very Fine (VF) condition, with the set beautifully housed in a clear 3" x 5" holder with a custom-designed insert. What are you waiting for, Pilgrim?
