THIS Is The Quality 1898-P Morgan You’ve Been Searching For!

You’re in luck! According to author and Morgan Silver Dollar expert Miles Standish, the 1898-P Morgan Silver Dollar is “perhaps the best-quality Philly-strike issue of the Morgan Dollar series.” According to Standish, this mintage contains many well-struck coins, with some even having “dazzling highly lustrous surfaces.” Finding one of these coins is hard enough given the fact that coin experts estimate that fewer than 15% of all Morgans, in any condition, still exist; but we have here is an exceptionally high-grade Morgan from the “Mother Mint” in Philadelphia that struck one of these key-date 1898 issues!

Only 27 Morgan Silver Dollars Have Received This High Grade!

The “high grade” attribution is no joke because the ones here have been certified, graded, and encapsulated by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) as being in fantastic Gem Uncirculated Mint State-66+ Proof-Like (MS66+PL) condition! Proof-Like (PL) Morgans are usually the result of a particularly nice, brilliant planchet being struck by a new or recently polished die. This coin was also awarded a + (plus) designation by PCGS because it’s just a hair away from being graded MS67—and according to the PCGS population report, only 27 Morgans have received this grade!

Graded Morgans have been very hot lately, and we seem to keep selling out of our supply. Get this coin now while you still can!

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • AMERICA’S MOST POPULAR COIN – The Morgan Silver Dollar—so named for its designer, U.S. Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan—has stood the test of time. Struck from 1878-1904 and again in 1921.
  • BIG SILVER COINS – Struck in 26.73 grams of highly pure 90% fine silver, the Morgan Silver Dollar is a big coin measuring 38.1 mm in diameter.
  • CLASSIC DESIGNS – Morgan’s historic design depicts a profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse while the reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings.
  • GEMN UNCIRCULATED PROOF-LIKE CONDITION – Your 1898-P Morgan Silver Dollar has been graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in Gem Uncirculated Mint State-66+ Proof-Like (MS66+ PL) condition.
  • KEY-DATE COIN FROM THE MOTHER MINT – Struck at the “Mother Mint” in Philadelphia, this 1898-dated coin is from America’s “Gilded Age” of the late 19th century and has no mint mark.
  • THE CASE OF THE DISAPPEARING MORGANS – While millions of Morgan Silver Dollars were struck from 1878 through 1921, massive silver meltings and the ravages of time have taken their toll. Today coin experts believe that only 15% of all Morgans ever struck remain in existence!
