1923-P Peace Dollar NGC MS66 - Great Montana Collection
1923-P Great Montana Peace Silver Dollar
Zollie Kelman grew up during the Great Depression. When he was a boy, Zollie watched speechless when city utility collectors threatened to shut off his family's water supply unless they paid the $1.81 bill immediately! His brother paid the bill with 181 Indian Head Pennies from his collection. This experience stayed with Zollie. During the 1950s and 1960s, he purchased 1,000 Silver Dollar Bags and put the family to work, dumping the coins on the kitchen table where the entire family searched through the coins looking for those with better dates and high quality. Most of the Silver Dollars in the collection are Morgans, but a small number of prized Peace Silver Dollars were also socked away. Each coin is graded in Mint State (MS) condition by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and has a Great Montana pedigree label. This 1923-P MS66 coin is in the top one percent of all graded at NGC.
