This Last Circulating Silver Kennedy Half Dollar Never Reached Circulation!
This 1970 Denver Mint Kennedy Silver Half Dollar is the last regular circulating silver Kennedy ever struck - but it never reached the publics' hands!
After silver prices rose dramatically in 1964, the mint reduced the silver content of the Kennedy Half Dollar to 40% in 1965. They continued to strike and release these 49% silver Kennedys into circulation all the way through 1969. All that changed when production of the 40% silver half ceased in 1970. But, the mint still struck Kennedy Half Dollars in 1970 at the Denver Mint, and included them in the Mint Set released that year.
Only 2,150,000 1970-D halves were struck and it's the lowest mintage for any Kennedy Half. As a result, this elusive coin, which must be obtained to complete any collection of Kennedy Half Dollars is highly sought after by collectors today. Now, you can add this coin in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition to your collection.
Don't wait, order it today.
