100th Anniversary Silver Dollar Collection

2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the last Morgan Silver Dollar and first Peace Silver Dollar. We’re celebrating by assembling a number of fantastic three-coin collections that bring together American Silver Dollars struck both then and now — a 100th Anniversary Silver Dollar Collection!

  • Your set will begin with a last-year 1921-P Morgan Silver Dollar, struck while the U.S. Mint was still preparing for the launch of its new Silver Dollar. The Morgan Silver Dollar — so named for its designer, U.S. Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan — has stood the test of time. Struck from 1878-1904 and again in 1921. Morgan’s historic design depicts a profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse while the reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings. This coin will come graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) in Choice Uncirculated Mint State-64 (MS64) condition.
  • After this “last” comes a “first” — a first-year 1921-P Peace Silver Dollar. While not produced in the same numbers as the Morgan Silver Dollar, the Peace Silver Dollar series has seen its reputation grow with each passing year. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, it features Lady Liberty on the obverse and a perched eagle on the reverse. It was struck from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935. This coin is not only a first-year Peace Dollar, it’s also an initial “high relief” version that proved unworkable resulting in a low-relief version being released in 1922. It will come graded by NGC in Choice Uncirculated Mint State-64 (MS64) condition.
  • Last comes a freshly struck 2021 American Eagle Type 1 Silver Dollar. It features Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty design that appeared half dollars struck from 1916 to 1947. In 1986, this iconic image was reborn for the Silver Eagle with her exquisitely detailed beauty remaining on the coin ever since. This coin’s reverse design features John Mercanti’s Heraldic Eagle. This will be the LAST time the U.S. Mint will use this design and will replace it with a new reverse later in 2021. It will come graded by NGC in perfect Mint State-70 (MS70) condition.

All three coins will come sonically sealed in acrylic holders and encapsulated with labels that pedigree them as “100th Anniversary Silver Dollar Collection.” What’s more, each label has been personally signed by John Mercanti, 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint and designer of the original Silver Eagle reverse. A giant in the numismatic world, Mercanti has produced more coin and medal designs than any person in U.S. Mint history. In addition, each three-piece set will come with a colorful, eagle-themed letter that was also signed by Mercanti.

Other bonus add-ons include an authentic 1" x 1" Morgan Silver Dollar bag section authenticated by Collectibles Authenticated Guaranty (CAG); storybooks about the Morgan Silver Dollar, Peace Silver Dollar and Silver Eagle; and a replica of a front-page newspaper dated September 14, 1921. The entire collection will also come beautifully housed in a deluxe presentation case.

Don’t miss your chance secure a set that combines vintage Morgan and Peace Dollars with a modern Silver Eagle. Only an extremely limited number of sets are available, however, so secure yours now and celebrate 100 years of American Silver Dollars!
