The bird on the left appears to be looking over its shoulder with a knowing smirk while the bird on the right has its head turned around to see what the other bird is up to. Engraved around the coin’s rim are the words AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA and the coin’s year date, weight, and silver purity. Nestled between the two birds is an exclusive colorized privy mark that shows a Brolga bird. The animal emblem of the state of Queensland where Brisbane is the capital and most populous city, the Brolga is a fitting privy mark that was added only to these exclusive Expo Kookaburras. Turn the coin over, and you’ll find Jody Clark’s effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In addition, NGC has certified that these Silver Kookaburras are First Releases (FR) coins, a designation that means they were received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within the first 30 days of their release.
