Since its introduction nearly 60 years ago, the Krugerrand series minted by the South Africa Mint has maintained the same classic design of former president Paul Kruger on the obverse and a symbolic Springbok antelope on the reverse. Featuring this same design, these 2024 Oom Paul Gold Krugerrands are struck in a quarter ounce of highly pure 91.67% fine 22-karat gold. For these special Oom Paul Press Krugerrands, a one-of-a-kind privy mark has been added to the design just above the Springbok. The privy is so special that the engravers at the South African Mint have hand engraved it into the dye rather than using laser engraving!

Flawless Proofs From Among The First Produced

Although these coins have no face value, they are 1/4 Rand legal tender in South Africa and are redeemable by South Africa's central bank at the most current melt value of gold. They have also been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) as being in flawless Proof-70 Ultra Cameo (PF70UC) condition, a distinction that means these perfectly-graded proofs will have ZERO imperfections–showing all features and fields exactly as the engraver and mint intended.
