Thomas Jefferson Bronze Medal NGC Choice Uncirculated SI Classics

This bronze Presidential mint medal features Thomas Jefferson. It was re-struck in 2007 by the U.S. Mint to honor our nation's third president. Each medal is graded in Choice Uncirculated condition by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and features a custom label approved and officially licensed by the Smithsonian Institution.

The obverse features the right facing bust of Thomas Jefferson. Obverse inscriptions read "TH. JEFFERSON," "PRESIDENT OF THE U.S." and "A.D. 1801." The reverse features two hands shaking, symbolic of the friendship between the Indian nations and the American government. Reverse inscriptions read "PEACE" above a Tomahawk and a peace pipe crossing, the word "AND" below. The word "FRIENDSHIP" is located below the handshake, which is centered on the reverse.

From the coins that helped shape American history, to commemoratives struck to celebrate our nation's rich past, at least one example of every item in this collection is found in one of the largest numismatic collections in the world - the Smithsonian Institution's National Numismatic Collection (NNC). Each item in the GovMint.com Smithsonian Coin Classics collection was handpicked for its unique place in American history by renowned numismatist and best-selling author Jeff Garrett. Each comes with a special pedigree label that has been authorized and licensed by the Smithsonian Institution along with a detailed story card.
