RELEASE 2
Massachusetts / Maryland / South Carolina / New Hampshire / Virginia
The 2026 Treasures of the U.S. series pairs high relief artistry with authentic natural materials: “Treasures” sourced from each state. From seashells and pyrite to real diamonds and even actual dinosaur bone, each element incorporates a piece of each state directly into the original design.
Created with former U.S. Mint Director and our brand ambassador David Ryder, this series marks his first-ever coin design collaboration and offers a unique opportunity to reflect on our nation’s 250th anniversary and the distinctive material signature of all 50 states.
Start your journey with the first five releases.

Each coin carries a $5 or $10 Tribal Dollar denomination authorized by the Mesa Grande Sovereign Nation, a federally recognized Native American tribe located in Northern San Diego County. This denomination is distinct from U.S. legal tender.
This inaugural release introduces five states with designs, and embedded natural materials, reflecting the earliest chapters of American history.
Ryder served as the 34th and 39th Director of the U.S. Mint, the first person in over a century to hold the office twice. His leadership shaped modern U.S. coinage, reviving the Morgan and Peace Dollar series, redesigning the American Silver and Gold Eagles, and expanding the use of privy marks.

If I had known about these when we did the State Quarters collection, the U.S. Mint would have produced these instead!
