Two Mint Sets, 1964 & 1965, 15 Coins!
The United States Mint has issued annual Uncirculated Mint Sets containing versions of all the circulating issues of the time since 1947. That’s a span of more than 75 years with few interruptions and format changes all specially packaged for coin collectors. Here you have a ten-coin 1964 United States Mint Set and a five-coin 1965 Special Mint Set, each one-year-only issue comes housed in government pliofilm packaging.
Sets Feature Key-Date Kennedy Half Dollars
The 1964 Mint Set includes Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, Washington Quarters, and Kennedy Half Dollars struck in highly pure 90% fine silver, from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The 1965 Special Mint Set includes the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Kennedy Half-Dollar struck in 40% silver—each with a “special finish that is brighter and shinier than coins minted for circulation.” The 1964 Set has two of the first-year-of-issue Kennedy Half Dollars—and the last struck in 90% silver—and the 1965 Mint Set has the first Kennedy Half Dollar struck in 40% silver.
