2025 American Gold Eagles feature the Type 2 "Eagle Portrait" reverse design that showcases a bold, close-up profile of America's national bird. Talented artist Jennie Norris created the Type 2 reverse, which debuted in the series in 2021 when it replaced the original Type 1 Family of Eagles reverse design.
The obverse of 2025 Gold Eagles showcases the timeless beauty of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' iconic Lady Liberty design. Originally created in 1907 for the $20 Gold Double Eagle, this numismatic masterpiece features Liberty confidently striding forward, holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Behind her, the U.S. Capital appears in the distance, with radiant sunbeams enhancing the sense of grandeur.
