Ms. Fang’s design for the 2023 Panda coin features a pair of playful young Panda bears—twins perhaps?—playing in a tree. A special addition to this year’s kilo coin is the addition of selective colorization that can be seen in the leaves of the tree. The obverse displays the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests located in Beijing’s Temple of Heaven. It is encircled by the phrase “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese along with the 2023 year date.
