The town of Tombstone in the former Arizona Territory (now the State of Arizona) has become a Mecca for Wild West enthusiasts thanks to the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. After the “accidental” killing of town marshal Fred White by the outlaw Curly Bill, Virgil Earp, brother of famous lawman Wyatt Earp, was appointed a U.S. deputy Marshal. Along with his brothers Wyatt and Morgan, as well as famous gambler Doc Holliday, Virgil engaged in what may be the most famous of all Old West shoot-outs.

William B. “Curly Bill” Brocius was one of the Old West’s most notorious bad men. In 1880, two years after arriving in Tombstone he joined forces with the Clanton Gang and became the leader of The Cowboys, Tombstone’s influential outlaw organization. Though not a participant in the Gunfight at the OK Corral, he orchestrated the murder of Morgan Earp and an attempt on Virgil Earp’s life. Curly Bill met his end in 1882 at Iron Springs in Cochise County, Arizona when he was shot by a double-barreled blast from Wyatt Earp’s shot gun
