1935 Braddock Cheap Seat Collection
1935 Braddock vs. Baer Cheap-Seat Set
It was meant to be a cakewalk for heavyweight champion Max Baer. Just an easy payday. He didn’t train. James Braddock, on the other hand, trained hard. As the fight started on June 13, 1935, Braddock was a ten-to-one underdog. By the end of the 15th round, he had won one of the greatest upset victories in the history of boxing. It cost $2.30 for a cheap-seat ticket to the fight. This set contains 20 coins that total $2.30. You get two Walking Liberty Half Dollars, 8 Mercury Dimes and 10 Buffalo Nickels—all dated 1935! The coins in this Depression-era set are all in collectible grade, and come with a replica front page of an actual newspaper dated the day after the fight, proclaiming Braddock’s surprise win. It’s a great piece of sports history. Get yours now!
