World War II Operation Torch Tribute Set

World War II is one of the most-collected eras of American history, as many of our fathers and grandfathers put their lives on the line to protect freedom around the globe. This Tribute Set hones in on one particular period during the war: Operation Torch. Commanded by Dwight D. Eisenhower, this operation was the first major offensive of the war and included the invasion of French Morocco and Algeria during the North African Campaign that was spearheaded by General George S. Patton’s 35,000-man amphibious landing near Casablanca.

America’s 1943 Wartime Coins

This five-piece set includes a one-year-only 1943 Lincoln Cent, struck in steel so the copper normally used to strike the coin could be used for the war effort; a 1943 “War” Nickel, similarly struck in copper and silver so the military could utilize our nation’s nickel supply; and a 1943 Mercury Dime, Washington Quarter and Walking Liberty Half Dollar.

All coins come in Very Good (VG) condition, housed together in a custom 3" x 5" holder. In addition, you’ll receive an authentic World War II-era currency note that circulated in North Africa during the fighting! Add this historic piece of history to your collection today!
