This 2-piece set of Koala coins from the Perth Mint. The set contains a platinum and gold ½ oz coin. Each set comes in a mint box with certificate of authenticity. Both coins are graded by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in Gem Proof (GEM PR), and each is certified as First Strike® - "one of the first 250 struck" - these coins are the best of the best.
This is the FIRST TIME a Koala design has been struck in both platinum and gold in the same year. Both coins in this set are special First Strikes certified to be one of the first 250 coins struck. The First Strike status is certified by the Perth Mint, and each coin has been encapsulated and certified by PCGS with a special Australian Flag label, certifying the coin to be one of the first 250 coins struck. Each coin depicts the unique work of artist Paolo Bellonotti of the Perth Mint. Each coin depicts the iconic Australian animal the Koala. His modern interpretation of traditional aboriginal art brings an exciting new dimension to Australian coinage.
