The Ultimate U.S. Silver Dime Set

Though they haven’t been struck for circulation in 90% silver for more than 55 years, the United States Silver Dime was one of the workhorse coins of the early 20th century. These coins featured simple yet exceptional designs and boasted considerable spending power.

Incredible Last-Year-of-Issue Dimes

This incredible set brings together one last-year-of-issue coin for all three of the 90% silver U.S. dimes: the Barber Silver Dime, last struck in 1916; the Mercury Silver Dime last struck in 1945; and the Roosevelt Silver Dime last struck for circulation in 1964. The designs displayed on these coins are among the most beautiful in American coin history:

  • THE BARBER DIME was struck from 1892 to 1916. The classic design was the work of Charles Barber, the U.S. Mint’s 6th Chief Engraver. It features Lady Liberty with her hair tucked up under her cap on the obverse while the reverse shows a wreath and the ONE DIME denomination.
  • THE MERCURY DIME struck from 1916 to 1945 features the iconic image of Lady Liberty with a winged Phrygian cap that makes her look like the Roman god Mercury. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, the image was so popular that when the U.S. Mint struck its first Palladium Eagle coin in 2017 it selected Weinman’s design!
  • THE ROOSEVELT DIME was released into circulation on January 30, 1946 to coincide with what would have been President Franklin Roosevelt’s 64th birthday. Because Roosevelt suffered from polio and had helped found the March of Dimes to fight the disease, using his likeness on the dime was the obvious way to honor the popular president for leading the country through the Great Depression and World War II. Beautifully designed by John R. Sinnock, the design has remained unchanged ever since.

Each coin available here was struck in 2.5 grams of highly pure 90% fine silver and measure 17.9 mm in diameter. These vintage dimes also come in Circulated condition and have been beautifully packaged in a custom display card. Mint marks will vary.
