Secure The Last Three Standing Liberty Quarters

The Standing Liberty Quarter was a workhorse coin in the United States during World War I and through the Great Depression. Struck from 1916 to 1930, it initially caused quite a scandal as its design featured Liberty with an exposed breast. But as we went to war, Liberty donned a vest of chain mail that she would wear until the series’ end.

A Design Not Seen In 90 Years

While the Standing Liberty Silver Quarters were last struck in 1930, it wasn’t actually replaced until 1932. After striking no quarters at all in 1931 due to the Great Depression, the United States Mint struck a new 25-cent piece in 1932 with the introduction of the Washington Quarter. Intended as a one-year-only release to honor President George Washington’s 200th birthday, the commemorative proved so popular that it replaced the Standing Liberty Quarter and is still struck to this day.
