A Half-Pound Bag Of Buffalo Nickels

The Buffalo Nickel is one of the most iconic coins ever struck by the United States Mint. It exudes the American spirit, and now you can bring home a full half-pound bag (that’s regular pounds, not Troy pounds) stuffed with Buffalo Nickels struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints, with at least one from each mint! That’s 46 coins in all, each in Good to Very Fine (G–VF) condition. Each set will come in a black pouch just waiting for you to sift through to find key dates an mint marks!

James Earle Fraser’s Famous Wild West Design

Created by famed American sculptor James Earle Fraser, the Buffalo Nickel has always been one of America’s most popular coins. The Indian depicted on the coin is a dead ringer for Oglala Lakota Chief Iron Tail—though Fraser claimed it was a composite of three men—Iron Tail of the Sioux, Two Moons of the Cheyenne, and John Big Tree of the Seneca nation—in order to protect both the Chief’s privacy and his own artistic license. The buffalo on the reverse was modeled after Black Diamond, a large American bison then on display at the Bronx Zoo in New York City not far from Fraser’s studio. This timeless design is as popular as ever and now graces the U.S Mint’s annual $50 one-ounce gold bullion coin!

Buffalo Nickels Are Becoming Harder To Find Every Day

Millions of these vintage Buffalo Nickels have worn out in circulation or been recalled and destroyed by the government. Today, significant quantities can often be found only in private hoards and estate collections. As a result, these coins are becoming more sought-after each day. And now you can acquire your own ready-made hoard! Each coin is at least 85 years old and features a full date with the main designs still clear and bold. Dates vary. Order yours today!
