The Meteoric Rise of Teddy Roosevelt
One of the most celebrated and fascinating figures in American political history, President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt began his meteoric rise to prominence in 1888, when President Benjamin Harrison gave him a job on the U.S. Civil Service Commission. By 1901, he had become Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Navy, a war hero who led the Rough Riders up San Juan Hill in the Spanish-American War, the Vice President of the United States and finally the President upon the tragic assassination of President McKinley.
This five-piece set contains coins were struck during the 1890s — the decade that witnessed Teddy still only in his 30s establish his image as that of a cowboy soldier and statesman. It includes an Indian Head Cent and a Liberty Nickel, Dime, Quarter and Half Dollar. Each coin comes in Good to Very Good (G-VG) condition and the entire set comes housed in a 3" x 5" custom display card. Dates vary between 1890 and 1899.
