The Last Five Buffalo Nickels From The Denver Mint
Designed by James Earle Fraser, the Buffalo Nickel was immensely popular thanks to its unequivocally American designs. The Indian on the coin is a dead ringer for Lakota Chief Iron Tail and the bison on the reverse was modeled after Black Diamond, a buffalo at the Bronx Zoo near Fraser’s studio. While millions of Buffalo Nickels were worn out in circulation, there’s nothing worn out about this set, however, as it represents the last five Buffalo Nickels struck from 1934–1938 at the Denver Mint.
Timeless Classics Still In Nice Condition
A timeless classic, the Buffalo Nickel series was struck from 1913-1938. During that time, the Denver Mint struck only 14% of all Buffalo Nickels, and this set includes the last five struck at that Mint, 1934-D, 1935-D, 1936-D, 1937-D, and 1938-D. Each coin is in nice collector grade Fine to Very Fine (F–VF) condition with full-dates along with clear and bold main designs.
Buffalo Nickels like these were heavily used during the Great Depression of the 1930s when small change became very important to many Americans. That means finding decent quality Buffalo Nickels today is becoming more difficult with every passing day. Secure your five-piece set now mounted in a custom-designed 3" x 5" storycard housed in a clear acrylic holder and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
