Currency From The Japanese Invasion Of The Philippines!
The day after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, they set their sights on the Philippines Islands and attacked on December 8, 1941. When they invaded the Philippines, they wanted to make sure that their control remained absolute. One way they attempted to do this was by issuing new currency. After taking control, they issued paper money designed to look like United States currency to circulate on the islands. Though the notes in this six-piece set feature local denominations ranging from 1 Peso to 500 Pesos, they also display the words “The Japanese Government,” so anyone making transactions of the day knew who was truly in control.
Real World War II-Ear Currency Notes—Not Replicas!
