Embark On A Treasure Hunt Through American History!
Treasure hunts are an enthralling experience because of the thrill of the chase and the joy of discovery, whether it's uncovering hidden goods, working out puzzles, or finishing tasks; finding a hidden treasure is a captivating pastime enjoyed by people of all ages. Here you can sift through a fun assortment of American coins and money for a Treasure Hunt that’s sure to whet your collecting juices or light a fire on a young collector eager to explore our nation’s great history! Here’s what you’ll get:
- 1943 LINCOLN STEEL CENT – These Steel Pennies helped America win World War II. During WWII, the military used copper for everything from shell casings to radio wire. To ensure a steady supply of copper, the U.S. Mint halted copper cents and issued special steel Lincoln Cents—but for just one year—1943! These “Steelies” are popular with collectors and are difficult to locate.
- 1913–1938 FULL DATE BUFFALO NICKEL – America’s fabled Buffalo Nickel features arguably the most authentic western-themed images in the nation’s numismatic history. Designed by James Earle Fraser, it was first released in 1913 and circulated until 1938. Its rugged depiction of an American Bison on the reverse and a portrait of a stoic Native American on the obverse has long been a collector favorite. Date out choice.
- 1957 $1 SILVER CERTIFICATE – In 1963, President John F. Kennedy signed Executive Order 1110, slowly halting the production of $1 Silver Certificates. That means the 1957 Series was the final year of the $1 Silver Certificates. These federally issued notes were as good as a silver dollar in your pocket—in fact, that was exactly their purpose: any one of these notes could be taken into a bank and traded for a gleaming silver dollar. This last-year-of-issue note is available here in Very Fine (VF) condition.
- 1934 $100,000 GOLD CERTIFICATE COMMEMORATIVE PRINT – The $100,000 gold certificate was the highest denomination ever issued by the United States. Used to transfer funds between banks, these notes were never meant for general circulation. In fact, bills like these were illegal to privately own. When the Federal Reserve stopped using these types of notes in the 1960s, the vast majority were destroyed. The legendary $100,000 Gold Certificate from 1934 returns here as a commemorative print.
- SILVERTOWNE 1/10 OZ SILVER INCUSE INDIAN – One of the shortest-lived series in U.S. coin history, the 1908–1929 “Gold Indian” $2.50 and $5 coins are collector favorites for their magnificent portrait of a Native American on the obverse and a Bald Eagle on the reverse. But what really set those coins apart was their incused design. Minted by SilverTowne in a tenth ounce of 99.9% silver, this Incuse Indian Round replicates the designs of the classic $2.50 and $5 Gold Indians from a century ago.
- 1-OZ MORGAN COPPER BAR – Collecting vintage Morgans Silver Dollars is more popular than ever thanks to the U.S. Mint’s release of brand-new Morgan Silver Dollars in 2021 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the last Morgans struck for circulation. Now you can add a wonderful addition to your Morgan collection with this 25.4 mm x 38.1 mm x 3.175 mm bar struck in an ounce of highly pure 99.9% copper that features the famous image of Lady Liberty on the obverse and a Heraldic Eagle on the reverse.
In addition to the other pieces in this set, you’ll also receive an authentic stone arrowhead! The lure of the chase is beckoning, so don’t wait—embark on your own adventure with this Treasure Hunt Collection today!
